Hunger in America describes one tragic night in the modern frontier town of Kodiak, Alaska.  Cab driver Jack Cliff's fares include workers, barflies, the dispossessed, the temporarily rich, lovers and mothers and sons.  With Jack they trace the night's arc in a sweet story of love and loss.
